About This Spot

Nestled quietly along Kandahar Street, Ootori Club Produced by Waka invites guests into a warm embrace of thoughtful simplicity and intimate conviviality. From the moment you step through its doors, the bustle of the city fades just a little, replaced by the steady hum of friendly chatter, the soft clink of glasses, and the inviting glow of well-placed lighting. There’s an easygoing rhythm here—unhurried yet lively, a space that feels both familiar and a little special, where time can stretch comfortably past the workday haze.

The atmosphere leans towards a cozy izakaya-style charm, blending the casual spirit of a local haunt with carefully curated touches that hint at precision and care. Whether choosing a seat at the indoor bar or opting for the alfresco area outside, guests find themselves among a crowd that appreciates genuine connection—be it through shared plates, quiet conversations, or the enjoyment of thoughtfully paired drinks.

At the heart of the experience is the food, presented not just as sustenance but as a conversation starter. Plates appear with creative yet comforting twists—offering familiar ingredients in unexpected combinations that feel both playful and respectful to tradition. Alongside these dishes, a well-rounded selection of sake, craft beers, and whiskies beckons to those wanting to linger and savor their evening.

More than just a Japanese restaurant or ramen spot, Ootori Club feels like a genuine discovery—a place where the spirited charm of an izakaya comes alive through subtle details and welcoming hospitality. It’s the kind of place that settles comfortably into your rhythm, encouraging visits that extend beyond a meal into moments of calm and connection in the city’s steady pulse.

After scouring Bugis, getting rejected by other japanese restos and lack of alcohol options, I stumbled upon Ootori Club. I ordered the Miyazaki Wagyu Sukiyaki with Yamagata Soy Sauce (M2 in the menu), some good old Deep Fried Ginko with Salt (F8 in menu) and topped it off with their Special - the Kotteri Collagen Ramen. Overall the vibes is real nice, the manager is also very friendly and gives good options for sake. I got a small Hanauyou Junmai Ginjo Dewasansan to pair with the beef and its great! Oh they also have cute different sake cups for you to choose Anyways if you staying in Bugis and feeling snackish and want some chill place to hang, come to Ootori Club!

Nice and cosy with indoor bar and alfresco option as well. Friendly staff. You can see the popularity with Japanese clients enjoying their drinks. They also have a food menu. Great to enjoy after a long day at work

We liked most of the dishes esp the cold tofu, yukhoe, sablefish and kampachi! Curry udon is a bit salty. Hope to come back esp for the oyster promo. Do try to request for a seat indoors if you’re making a reservation.

I have to say, this is honestly the best Izayaka I have ever been to. The food is just so good, every dish tasted amazing and what really stood out was how creative it was. Even simple ordinary dishes were given a fun and unique twist that made them unforgettable. The best part is everything is super affordable, which makes the whole experience even better. You get restaurant quality flavors without paying crazy prices. On top of that, the owner herself Waka came over to chat with us and she was so warm and friendly. You can tell she is really passionate about her food and her place, which made the whole meal feel extra special. It did not feel like just dining out, it felt like being welcomed into someone’s home. With the great food, affordable prices and such a personal touch, this Izayaka is definitely one I will keep coming back to.

Oortori Club is a must every time visiting Singapore for me. The food is delicious and authentic. And some great Japanese craft beers, whiskies and sake of course.

Great Friday’s vibes at this cozy Japanese pub, perfect for winding down after work. Atmosphere was lively as expected on a Friday, though it did get a bit loud at times. Food was surprisingly good, especially the oversized chicken karaage, crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. While the serving of the red wine I had felt a little on the lighter side, I notice the Japanese alcohol servings for the other patrons were generous. Will definitely be back to try more of their sake selection and ramen!

???????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????? thinly sliced salmon appetiser to start off your meal! salmon was quite fresh and not too fishy. but it was topped with this tangy dressing which overpowered the taste of the whole dish ???????????????????????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????? pork which was grilled nicely to ensure it isn’t too dry and is tender! can def taste the miso as it was sweet yet savoury comes w a sesame dressing on the side too ???????????????????????? ???????????????????????????? avocado w shredded chicken, bean sprouts, and a spicy sichuan style sauce. a very interesting combination of flavours the sauce had a spicy kick and didn’t taste too bad with avo! but felt that there was kinda toooo much going on haha ???????????????????? ???????????????????? a mix of seasonal veggies and a crab butter dip sauce. honestly not too bad, dip was abit salty for my liking but i felt that this dish paired with sake the best! ???????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? somen topped with diced tomatoes and cheese for the closing dish it was decent too, somen wasn’t too over cooked and the tomatoes and cheese pairs rather well. and as a sake bar, they have a loooong list of sakes and drinks to choose from!

Hidden gem, legit best Japanese restaurant in Singapore. Order the smoked bonito, it’s done really well and not gamey at all
